Making the wide turn for base, to get some decent photo's, this gives you an idead of the scale of this island.

Turning base now, over the Gulch, were the ocean has carved out a giant sea cave, you can see the whitecaps where the ocean swells break against the coral barriers to the lagoon.

Overlooking the lagoon to Mt Linchbird and Gower covered in late afternoon cloud. A typical south Pacific island, we get blazing sunshine and brief monsoonal showers within about 10 minutes of each other. line.jpg (727 bytes)

Eunrise en-route to Lord Howe Island. Here we are overhead Terrigal on the way to Port Macquarie for re-fueling, before making the 2 hour overwater trip to the island. The weather got progressively worse to the point of IFR by the time we reached Port Mac.
